The boots were on, the rugby was happening and the washing baskets probably had another busy weekend!

Our Minis, Juniors, Ravens and Colts were all getting stuck in, and we’ve got another round of photos and highlights to share from across our Youth section.

Under 6s | Charlie

Charlie listened well and understood how to use his footwork to sidestep the defence when in attack, as well as putting it to good use by taking an incredible tag during the 1v1s. Great work today!

Under 7s | Grace & Joe

Our Under 7s visited Cricklade this week, and it was a new ground for us. We were coached by Cricklade's U14 coach, who was stepping in. We played some new games and learned some new skills.

Grace showed silky dance hips in 'tagmania' whilst dodging her teammates, she collected numerous tags. She also showed these skills in our end game, making many yards with her runs.

Joe adapted to the offside rule really well and was getting quickly back behind the ball in defence. He also put in some try-saving tackles.

Under 8s | Ben

Today our Under 8s squad travelled to Cricklade Rugby Club for an action-packed session of training and match play.

The team showed lots of energy, working hard to sharpen their skills during training and putting them into brilliant practice during the match. There was plenty of great running, passing, and teamwork on display. Congratulations to Ben, who was awarded Coach's Player.

Ben earned this well-deserved recognition thanks to his effort, excellent listening skills, and performance during the games. Well done, Ben, and brilliant effort to the whole Under 8s team!

Under 9s | Ted, Tommy & George

Taking learnings from the coaching session attended at Marlborough College on Saturday, we took on Cricklade away this Sunday. The kids are starting to get a hang of tackling and are getting more confident, but there is still plenty to work on.

Player of the week was Ted. It was his first ever session of rugby, and he threw himself enthusiastically into it and kept trying the whole game.

Tackler of the week was Tommy, who did really well at getting up and tackling the opposition behind the gain line.

George D got teammate of the week for his perseverance; he had been ill on Saturday but took part in the whole session, and took a knock on Sunday but returned to the game after a short rest.

Under 10s | Elijah

Our player of the week was Elijah, away at Cricklade today. New to the club this season, he has hit the ground running, taking on instruction well and demonstrating those skills in games. His dynamic ball carrying and physicality are something to behold.

Our Rucker of the week was always working hard for his team and was positive in everything he did.

Excellent performance today, players!

Under 11s | Oscar & Henry

Our Player of the Week was Oscar, who showed a fantastic performance! Brilliant teamwork, made some cracking runs and was rewarded with a couple of well-deserved tries! It’s great to see him growing in confidence each week, getting more involved and really making an impact on the pitch. A superb all-round effort today. Well done, Oscar!

Our Tackler of the Week was Henry. What an incredible defensive effort! Solid in defence throughout, working tirelessly and showing real determination to never give up. The standout moment came right at the end of the match, when Henry chased an opposition player the entire length of the pitch to pull off a brilliant try-saving tackle!

A fantastic example of commitment, determination and playing right until the final whistle. Outstanding effort, Henry!

Under 12s | Jack & Archie

Our Tackler of the Week was Jack: He has been growing every single week. His confidence in the tackle is really starting to shine through — he stepped in bravely, used solid technique, and showed real commitment in defence. A brilliant effort from Jack.

Player of the Week was Archie, who made a fantastic impact in his first session. His natural ball skills stood out straight away, and he showed impressive space awareness for a newcomer. He read the game well and looked right at home with the group.

Under 13s | Danny

The Player of the week for Under 13s was Danny, who, in only his first game for us, showed great promise and ability with some fantastic carries and strong tackling. Well done Danny; we’re looking forward to seeing more of that over the coming weeks.

Ravens Under 12s | Caitlin

It was Caitlin's first match this week. She played really well, with some amazing ball carries.

Ravens Under 14s | Emily

An absolutely relentless performance from Emily. Her rucking, tackling and sheer work rate were outstanding throughout. She never stops working for her teammates and once again led by example. Thoroughly deserved!

Under 14s | Grayson

Grayson put in an assured performance at fly-half, building a great connection with our scrum-half and doing an excellent job of moving the team around the pitch.
He worked hard in defence, making important tackles and putting the opposition under pressure throughout the game.

In a fantastic show of sportsmanship, Grayson even stepped in to help the opposition by pulling on a RAMS jersey after they suffered injuries — and he topped it off by getting on the scoresheet for them with a very well-taken try!

A brilliant all-round performance, showing skill, teamwork and great sportsmanship. Well done, Grayson! Thoroughly deserved!

Under 15s | Callum

This week’s U15 player of the match is Callum N, who showed outstanding defensive work playing at Centre and full-back, scoring a brace of tries either side of the half, showing pace, power and good attacking prowess.

Under 16s | Pierson

A shout-out to Yitak and Felix for some big shots, and Riley and Tom for strong carries. But this week, the player of the match goes to Pierson!

Great work rate, always promoting himself to carry and some excellent defensive tackles. Well done, boys, and bring that energy to training and our next match.

Ravens Under 16s | Lexi & Bella

Although our U16 Ravens didn’t have a game this week, Lexi and Bella were still out on the pitch! The girls went along to help out the Warriors, returning the favour after they kindly lent us players last weekend.

A fantastic example of teamwork and rugby spirit!  Well done, girls! We’re proud of you both!

Colts | Ollie & Freddie

On Sunday, one RWB Colts team took on Supermarine Colts and came away with a 56-0 win. The first 20 minutes were very tight, but Ollie (Westy), our MOTM, repeatedly cleared our line with some impressive exit kicks. He was reliable in defence and topped his performance with a try in the final 5 minutes.

In our other fixture against MC Quins, we had a tough day against a majority Under 18s team that was well drilled and very physical. Our MOTM Freddie stepped up and met fire with fire, carrying hard and tackling even harder.

Ravens | Tyna, Lexi, Dotty, Bella and Kat

A big congratulations to Tyna, Lexi, Dotty, Bella and Kat, who have been selected for the England U16 Player Development Group (PDG), a fantastic achievement for the girls.

It’s great to see our Ravens continuing to develop and take these opportunities, and a reminder of what’s possible when you get involved in girls’ rugby.

Fancy giving rugby a go? Our Ravens squads welcome new players. Whether you’ve played before or are completely new to the game, get in touch and come and give it a try.
