Ballards Ash was a little busier than usual this Sunday as our Minis Festival got underway, with the Under 10s, Under 11s and Under 12s taking centre stage.
And while they were keeping things busy at home, our other Junior teams were out and about too — so there’s plenty to look back on this week:
Under 6s | Max
Player of the week to this week was Max. It’s nice to see his confidence has grown and he was absolutely smashing it.
With good listening, fast on his feet and super quick thinking. Nice job Max.
Under 10s | Noah & Owen
An excellent showing from our U10’s at our mini festival, putting into practice our new contact skills. Well done, everyone.
Noah was the player of the week for RWB 1, demonstrating great rucking technique to secure the ball at breakdowns. He also carried the ball with speed and purpose in attack.
Owen was the RWB 2 player of the week, working tirelessly in defence, sieving down attackers with great tackles and showing a clean pair of heels to score several times. Top work players!
Under 11s | Squad
This week, we couldn’t pick just one Player of the Week – so we’ve chosen the entire Under 11 squad! 👏
We were incredibly proud of both teams at the festival. The players took the new rules in their stride, worked hard for one another and produced some really good rugby against some tough opposition.
What impressed us just as much was their attitude off the ball. When other teams were short of numbers, our players were quick to volunteer to play for them and help make sure everyone got as much rugby as possible – a great example of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Every player can be very proud of their effort, attitude and the way they represented the club throughout the day.
A fantastic effort from the whole squad. You did yourselves, your teammates and the club proud! Well done, Under 11s.

Ravens Under 12s | Izzy & Millie
Choosing the Raven of the week was really hard, as every girl put in a shift, but well done to Izzy.
Her first game, and she scored two tries, with some great tackles and incredible rucking. Also, well done to Millie; you were fantastic in the breakdowns and carried hard every time.
Already looking forward to next week!
Ravens Under 14s | Emily
Our U14 Raven of the Day was Emily R. Absolutely solid in defence all game, with a work rate to match. A fantastic performance!
Under 12s | Squad
A great effort from the whole team this week. Everyone worked hard, supported each other, and showed the things we’ve been practising in training during the festival.
Well done to all the players on a great performance.
Under 13s | Fintan
Player of the week for the U13’s was Fintan.
He had an amazing game, showing up for his team with great awareness and strong defence, with multiple tackles and a fab try to round it all off!
Well done, Fintan!
Under 14s | Ellis
Under 14s player of the game was Ellis in our first game of the season against a strong, well-organised Oxford Quins side.
Ellis put in a fantastic debut performance after joining the club in the Summer. He showed great defensive work, making some crunching tackles and covering the pitch brilliantly. He also formed a great centre partnership. Well done, Ellis.
Under 15s | Zach
U15 Player of the match in a tough game at Cleve was Zach H.
Zach had an excellent game in defence and attack, scoring four tries. Honourable mention goes to Noah for a great all-round effort.

Next weekend, the Minis Festival continues at Ballards Ash, with our Under 7s, Under 8s and Under 9s taking their turn in the spotlight.
We’re looking forward to another busy Sunday of mini rugby, with plenty of little players, big smiles and no shortage of action.
