Following a rigorous selection process with numerous candidates, we are delighted to confirm that Rhys Floyd has been appointed as the club's new Community Rugby Coach.
The CRC programme, supported by Rebound Electronics is aimed at redefining youth rugby engagement within local schools and the wider community.
Rhys, a senior player within the club, brings substantial experience to the role. With a background of four years of sports coaching within schools, a regular coach for our club's junior teams and lead coordinator of our popular Walking Rugby sessions, his dedication to cultivating the next generation of rugby enthusiasts positioned him as an ideal candidate to guide this new initiative.
RWBRFC established the Community Rugby Coach programme after recognising a void of rugby coaching within local schools. Rhys will work with schools and community organisations to lead both curricular and extracurricular rugby activities. By developing and delivering these rugby activities, Rhys will play a vital role in fostering a love for the sport that endures well beyond the school years.
The club's sponsor, Rebound Electronics, was keen to get involved to enable wider takeup. As part of a package of support, Rebound has entirely funded the CRC programme for two years, by which time the CRC programme is hoped to become self-financing.
Both curricular and extracurricular sessions will be available to local schools from September
Schools can secure a free rugby session now by contacting Rhys at CRC@rwbrfc.club or by calling 07376 947197. You can stay connected with Rhys' CRC journey on Twitter or Instagram.
