Another weekend, another collection of muddy boots, big tackles and moments worth celebrating!

Our Minis, Juniors, and Ravens have been getting stuck into their rugby again, and we’ve rounded up this week’s highlights for you to enjoy.

Under 6s | Amari

Amari had his first taster session with the club this week. Despite being new and having to learn many of the mini games from scratch, he still got immediately stuck in; finding space, making darting runs, scoring trys and taking great tags. An amazing, all-round demonstration today, well done!

Under 7s | Grace

This morning we got some more valuable training in as our game was called off. We practiced: passing backwards, staying onside and supporting our teammates.

We had several new players to the team which is fantastic.

Grace was this weeks player of the week as she really supported a new player (Roxy). Grace is improving week in week out in all areas of her game. Well done Grace!

Under 8s | Jack

With no visitors this weekend, an excitable Under-8 team spent some time sharpening our skills. We kicked things off with a high-energy, rugby-themed obstacle course designed to test agility and handling, before some passing skill work and matches, finishing with a ‘fierce’ game of bulldog against the parents.

This week’s Coach’s Player award went to Jack. He put in an incredible shift, both during the drills and the match. And showing some great skills in the final round of bulldog. Another brilliant Sunday - well done everyone!

Under 10s | James & Oscar

Our player of the week was James who demonstrated some excellent running skills in the training match. He was also really receptive in our double tackles training drill.

The Rucker of the week was Oscar. He showed great commitment in the rucking and pods drill today and this was carried through into the training match. Very well done guys.

Under 9s | Otto, Logan & Rupert

Without any opposition, we took the opportunity to work on core skills, including working as a defensive line, tackle technique and creating an overlap in attack.

Tackler of the week was Otto, who is really getting the hang of it and starting to put in big hits.

Teammate of the week was Logan; he improved in defence and has started to make incisive runs in attack.

Player of the week was Rupert, his passing was excellent, and in defence he is being aggressive and finishing off his tackles really well.

Under 11s | Ruari

A fantastic performance from Ruari this week. He showed some brilliant, gutsy defending, putting into practice exactly what we’d worked on earlier in the session. It was great to see him take what he’d learned and apply it so confidently in match play.

He was equally impressive in attack, with strong, determined runs and excellent support play, always looking to get involved and help his teammates.

A brilliant all-round effort, Ruari! Very well deserved!

Under 12s | Jack & Archie

Our Coaches Player of the week was Jack F, who worked tirelessly for the team and showed excellent tenacity in attack and defence. A great example of commitment every week.

Team Player was Archie B, who showed strong confidence in attack and has been working hard on his tackling and contact. His improvement is clear and consistent.

Ravens Under 12s | Agnes

The girls had their first festival as a team, kindly supported by Bristol Pumas. All in all, the girls were fantastic.

Loads of passing, rucking, tackling and things we have been working on in training came to life. Each girl was a credit to the club, and the girls won the fair play award, which was fantastic.

Raven of the week goes to Agnes, who scored her first try of the season and did not stop all game.

Ravens Under 14s | Isla

An outstanding performance from Isla today! Her work rate was excellent throughout, carrying the ball brilliantly, making valuable metres and repeatedly getting involved at the breakdown to steal possession.

A fantastic all-round performance and a thoroughly deserved Raven of the week!

Under 13s | Ben

Leading from the front today for the Under 13s was Ben, who was a deserving winner of Player of the Week.

He was involved in every positive move, worked really hard in defence, and also scored 4 tries, most of which came from true grit, determination and a real burst of speed. Ben set a great example to everyone today; well done!

Under 14s | Donald

Donald had a great game, making plenty of tackles and putting into practice everything we’ve been working on in training. It’s brilliant to see him listening, learning and applying it on the pitch.

He also carried the ball hard all game and scored a wonderful try, breaking through the defensive line!

A well-deserved Player of the Game. Keep up the great work!

Under 15s | Ashdon

Player of the match for the under 15s was Ashdon. In a tough game away at Coney Hill, Ashdon had a great impact at the ruck, which was perhaps the most hotly contested area of the game.

Under 16s | Riley

Well done, Riley, for being this week's player of the week! He stepped up to play in a position he hasn’t played for a while and held his own. His carry rate was high and always looking to gain meters.

Ravens Under 18s | Squad

A huge effort from the six Ravens girls today, joining forces with Tetbury just an hour before kick-off to face a strong and well-drilled Worcester side.

RWB-Tetbury battled throughout, with outstanding tackling, physicality and a strong line-out, even stealing ball against the throw. As the team gelled, the rugby began to flow, producing two fantastic tries through forwards and backs combining.

Izzy was devastating in the loose, Gabbi relentless in the tackle, Emily showed brilliant versatility across backs and forwards, Roxy and Julia put in impressive shifts, and Bella ran hard and threatened out wide.

No single Player of the Match today. All six Ravens girls deserved the honour for a fantastic team effort.

Ravens Under 16s | Kaitlyn & Lexi

Our POTM Kaitlyn, for her first game, getting stuck in & putting in her tackles.

Their choice was Lexi, for strong runs, strong tackles, loads of jackling and ripping of the ball.

We started strong in the first half, but it was an evenly matched game. Slower start to the second half, but we turned up the heat, made some good turnovers and breaks, resulting in a run of tries in the second half, securing the win. Thank you to Hungerford for lending us players.
