Weekend highlights from our Youth section...

Under 6s | Spencer

Sunday morning offered ideal conditions for our under-6s training session. We worked on games to enhance mobility, followed by drills to improve evasiveness and passing. The highlight was the fast-paced matches, showcasing the children's agility and teamwork.

This week’s Coaches’ Player of the Week, Spencer, stood out for his impressive performance during snakes, skillfully navigating the course and encouraging his teammates. Well done Spencer.

Under 7s | Harri

On another bright day the kids continued to show lots of progress. There were lots of brilliant tries scored and some really well coordinated defending too.

Our player of the week was Harri. He tried really hard the whole session, got lots of tags and scored a brilliant try with the last play of the game.

Under 8s | Noah & Chloe

Noah and Chloe were players of the week for putting everything the coaches taught them into practice! They did fantastic passes and showed great spatial awareness when forming the defensive line! Well done Noah and Chloe!

Under 9s | Tobias

Tobias lead by example today in both the training and the match. Helping his teammates get organised and be more confident in the training, then in the game showing incredible commitment in his tackling and his running. Well done T!!

Under 10s | Benedict & Sid

Tough day at the office for the under 10’s against a well drill Cirencester team but Benedict epitomised the never give up attitude. He was our player of the week for his strong rucking and ball carrying.

Sid back from injury was a tackling machine today sticking his head in the spokes throughout both games. Great effort guys! 💪

Under 11s | Lincoln

Lincoln was really strong today with some great movement, intelligent runs and well-timed offloads - a deserved player of the week, well done!

Under 12s | Toby

Today’s player of the week for the Under 12's goes to Toby who put an absolute shift in, constantly at the ruck and being a menace at the break down causing all sorts of problems for opposition.. along with multiple tackles. Well done Toby.

Ravens Under 12s | Eliza

An afternoon of quality rugby in the sun, what more could we want. Our Ravens and the Lionesses were extremely well matched, each team pushed each other hard, and it produced some of our best rugby of the season! The Lionesses were well drilled and extremely aggressive, and the Ravens stood up to the challenge presented to them. We ran in some well worked tries, and showed lots of courage in defence.

The girls supported each other and worked superbly as a team throughout. Strong performance from all, but Eliza made so many metres carrying the ball that we couldn’t look past her today for Raven of the week, she really was fantastic.

Very proud of all of the girls, see you all on Friday ⚫️⚪️🔴🐦‍⬛

Under 13s | Zach

Player of the match for the U13s as voted for by the Devizes coaches was Zach.

Zach took his tries well after some trademark strong running. However his strength in defence and at the tackle proved decisive in shutting down the Devizes attack.

Under 14s | Charlie

Player of the week went to Charlie! Very impressive performance in only his second game for us. Great effort in his support play to always offer himself as an option along with some great darting runs.

Ravens Under 14s | Erin, Bella & Dotty

In the heat, the Ravens U14s had a fun skills practice. After practicing rucking and ball handling, we divided into a carousel session that was facilitated by the most seasoned players.

The players choose the discipline they wished to focus on, and they worked hard and became a better team under the bright sun and clear skies. Erin conducted tackle tech, Bella directed kicking from hand, and Dotty taught her teammates place kicking. These three amazing athletes deserve special recognition for their assistance today.

We also welcomed a new member to the team. The players were kind and welcoming as usual. Congratulations, Ravens U14s.

Under 16s | Cian & Ben

The man of the match at Frome was Cian, his relentless work in breakdowns, stealing ball after ball, and his darts for our lineout gave us a great foundation to get our backs into the game. Well done Cian.

After a tough fixture at Bradford on Avon against a physical Cobras team, where so many of our players left everything on the pitch, today’s MOTM was Ben Cooper. Playing at 8, he helped sustain the pressure of a strong Cobra scrum and broke through on several occasions and help lift the team with a well deserved try in the second half. Well done Ben 🏉👍

Ravens Under 16s | Roxy

The U16 lost with lots of changes against good opposition played a great match scoring 2 great tries with excellent off loading in the tackle and creating lots of opportunities but we're punished by the opposition who took every chance they created overall a great effort by all.

Roxy got players player of the match and Bella was chosen by the opposition as player of the match.
