The Ravens U14s hit the road to take on their friends at North Dorset Ravens. In a fiercly contested match, played in wet and extremely windy conditions. Bassett started well and scored an early try, but ND hit back soon after with a try of their own. The two teams were very evenly matched, with the contrast of styles on show. ND dominated the early rucks as Bassett body heights were too high, but we were able to counter with good dominant tackles and jackling the tackled players.
As the game progressed, Bassett got better at competing at the breakdown, and were able to give the backs some quality ball. We began to use quick hands to move the ball wide, and also started to utilise the driving mall as a weapon to good success. In the end, Bassett ran away with the victory, but reinforced our friendship with a great team at ND.
Our player of the day was Kat, for her tremendous work in both the front row, and in the centre, her ferocious tackles and great team spirit, she was awarded a signed match ball
