Thank you to all the Youth players from our club who observed a minutes silence during 🌺 Remembrance Sunday.

Here is a recap of how they all got on...

Under 6s | Oliver

Thanks to everyone who made it to Bradford on Avon. A good all round performance from Oliver this week saw him pick up Player of the Week. He was excellent in the tag game and worked really hard in the shuttle runs. Well done Oliver.

Under 7s | Rupert

Great effort by all the Under 7 players today and the Remembrance Sunday silence was impeccably observed. The Player of the Week was Rupert who did brilliantly the whole session, both in attack and defence.

Under 8s | Ellis

Ellis showed a good understanding of passing drills and demonstrating that in the games. Fantastic effort, Ellis, well done!

Under 9s | Oscar

Great sportsmanship playing for the opposition, amazing try scoring well done!

Under 10s | Millie & Dylan

Millie was Player of the Week displaying great tenacity and speed, running strong and always looking for support. Ace work Millie!

Dylan who also put in a strong performance showed great line speed and made countless tackles today. He was our tackler of the week!

Ravens Under 12s | Eliza

No game for the U12 Ravens this week. At Fridays training we focused on movement, rucking past the ball and working in space. A well deserved Raven of the week for Eliza, for excellent forward running in our game, and good work across all the drills.

Under 11s | Daniel & Ollie

We were really pleased to see Daniel win player of the week today, who has grown in confidence over the last few weeks and has developed his all-round game which really showed today. Tackle of the week went to Ollie, who worked tirelessly with multiple hits today, showing great technique and strength.

Under 12s | Elliott

This week’s player of the week for the Under 12's went to Elliott who in a very tough encounter with BoA , showed continued determination and effort, along with put in some big tackles.

Under 13s | Charlie

U13 played a tough game vs Cleve. Player of the match was Charlie for moving the ball well at 10 and bringing the centres and wider players onto the game. He changed the dynamic of the game and set the platform for a fight back.

Under 14s | Tomos & Jack

Players of the week went to Tomos and Jack.

You would never guess this was Tomos' first season playing rugby! His development week on week is great. Completely dominant in his tackles today, driving every opposition player backwards and some great carries too!

And Jack had an excellent game on the wing, strong defensively and making meters every time he was on the ball.

Special mention also to George who won the opposition's Man of the Match.

Well done all 🖤🤍🖤🤍

Under 16s | George

George produced some strong running on a day that the whole U16 Bassett squad took the game to Whitney. His decisive running at 13 allowed for a strong attacking base and from which, the team ended up clear winners.

Ravens Under 14s | Ruby

The Under 14s travelled to Drybrook to give their development team some much needed game time. In a one sided fixture, the Ravens practiced their backs moves, and support play to great effect. With some powerful line breaks, quick footwork, the focus was to get the ball through the hands to the wingers. Our team grew in confidence throughout the match, and by the fourth quarter, we were completely dominating. Drybrook managed to get a consolation try late in the game but the Ravens won 21 tries to 1.

Our player of the day is Ruby, who's confidence and commitment to the breakdown, ball carrying and support play were a joy to witness.

U15 | Alfie

The U15s travelled to Chipping Norton this Sunday for a tough fixture that was played in a good competitive atmosphere. Player of the week is Alfie. On Friday night he displayed all the skills of a good front row forward.

Ravens Under 16s | Gabby

In a hard-fought and spirited match, the Royal Wootton Bassett Ravens U16s traveled to Bristol to take on the Barbarians.

Chosen by the opposition, Player of the Match was Gabby. Gabby’s relentless defense and energy made her a standout, with a fantastic performance at center that kept the Barbarians at bay.

A thrilling match and a great team effort by the Ravens, who showcased resilience and teamwork to secure the win.

Colts | Guy

Colts U17 played Frome away. The MoM was Guy, one of our U16 contingent who definitely does not look out of place playing Colts rugby. He was dominant in his scrummaging, fierce in the tackle, and even bagged a try. Well done Guy.

Colts | Will

The Colts played Chipping Sodbury Colts at home. Will was our Man of the Match.
