It’s been a few weeks since our last youth roundup — so we’ve got plenty to catch up on!

After a busy month on and off the pitch, it’s the perfect time to catch up with our Minis, Juniors, and Ravens teams and celebrate some of the great moments they’ve been enjoying.

Under 7s | Jasper

Our U7s travelled to Hungerford this week, where we were welcomed superbly by our hosts.

A quick warm‑up was all the players needed before launching into a series of lively, competitive matches. Jasper earned Coach’s Player, this week, for his outstanding involvement - he stayed switched on from start to finish and delivered some really smart passes. A brilliant performance.

Under 8s | Barney & Otto

There were great performances all round as our team worked hard in defence, ran great support lines and displayed crisp passing.

The two players of the week were Barney and Otto. Barney was repeatedly on players shoulders in support and showed great pace with ball in hand, scoring numerous tries. Otto was tenacious in defence, elusive with ball in hand and was particularly impressive when making passes on the run.

Under 9s | Skyla & Noah

Tackle legend of the week - Skyla should be very proud of herself. A number of players could have won this award this week. But Skyla was everywhere taking down opposition players. Even missing a tackle getting up and chasing down the player to finally tackle them. Well done Skyla.

Noah was a menace in attack and defence. Causing problems for the opposition with amazing runs, passing and tackles. He listened to coaching tips and applied them in the games. Well played Noah. He stood out amoungst everyone who was also unreal today.

Under 10s | Issac & Richard

U10 players of the week were Issac and Richard.

Both for listening and putting into practice all of the skills that they have been learning in training.

Under 11s | Alex & Alex

This week’s Player of the Week goes to Alex W. Having only recently taken up rugby, he has shown tremendous improvement in both his game and his confidence week by week.

During today’s match, Alex demonstrated real perseverance and a willingness to take on advice from the coaches. He made some strong forward runs into contact and continues to grow in confidence every time he steps onto the field.

Alex C was the Rucker of the week, showing great speed into the breakdown turning over a ball that led to a great try from his selfless play.

Ravens Under 12s | Esmae

Esmae spotted the rucking threat from the Pumas early and wasn't prepared to let it slide. Outstanding work at the breakdown, creating multiple turnovers and setting the tone for the team. A brilliant performance.

Under 13s | Finn

Under 13s Player of the Game this week goes to Finn following a very competitive match against Bradford-on-Avon, with several players stepping up and playing out of position.

Finn had an excellent game at prop. Alongside his fellow forwards, he helped create a strong and dominant scrum, providing a solid platform for the backs to attack from.

It wasn’t just his work in the scrum that stood out — Finn’s effort around the ruck and his support play across the pitch were real highlights throughout the game. A fantastic all-round performance.Well done, Finn!

Ravens Under 14s | Florrie

U14 Raven of the week was Florrie, she was outstanding; covering ground everywhere, tackling like a demon and winning some great turnovers - well done Florrie!

Under 14s | Zach

Player of the match for the U14s boys against Tetbury Minety Barbarians was Zach.

Zach captained the team in a close fought win which Bassett only closed out in the last five minutes. Zach scored two tries and was at the heart of our attempts to manage the ruck where Tetbury Minety were very strong.

Under 15s | Finn, Zach, Jack & Benjamin

Thank you for stepping up to today’s players of the match vs Grove U15s.

Each brought a slightly different skill set to the game, but together they added total value to the team.

Under 15s | Tom

Player of the Week for the Swindon game went to Tom - an absolute beast in defence that had Swindon’s ball carriers looking to run away from him. Work rate second to none always showing up to carry the ball too.

Ravens Under 16s | Holly

The Ravens took on a very good side in Maidenhead. Player of the match was Holly, and the opposition chose Dotty. Well done to all.
