On Friday evening the first round of the Wooden Spoon Wiltshire Floodlight Festival took place at RWBRFC.
U11 teams from RWBRFC, Minety, Supermarine and Marlborough played in the tournament, which is the first in a series of events which will take place across the county and end with a finals festival at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester in May next year. A massive thank you to all the clubs and players who took part.
Wooden Spoon Wiltshire raises funds that help life-changing projects in the local area. One example of a project they pledged to support is Rowdeford School near Devizes, providing specialist care for children with special needs.
Over the years RWBRFC has been the leading local club in helping Wooden Spoon raise a considerable amount of funds for local charities in the Swindon and Wiltshire area. To recognise this achievement, Wooden Spoon presented the club with a plaque recognising RWBRFC as an official Partner Club.

We are the first club in Wiltshire to receive this recognition and we are delighted to accept it. Pictured is Chris Elias, Chairman of Royal Wootton Bassett RFC receiving the award from Regional Development Manager David Walmsley.
