Alexia Flood, the Team Manager of our 'Ravens' girl's rugby teams is gearing up to cycle 1084 miles to raise funds to help grow girl's rugby at Royal Wootton Bassett RFC.

Having started our girls section at RWBRFC in 2019 and weathered two interrupted development seasons due to the global pandemic, the Ravens have since grown to some 20-25 girls training regularly throught the season.  The Ravens are now hoping to arrange a rugby tour at the end of the season.

Alexia is a passionate advocate for girls rugby. "Girls rugby has so many benefits, such as fitness, friendship and fun," said Alexia.  "But it also promotes inclusion, team building, healthy body image and self confidence." Interested girls should email girlsrugby@rwbrfc.club for further information.

As the Ravens team manager, Alexia hopes to lead various fundraising challenges throughout the year, starting with a sponsored cycle event, peddling the equivalent mileage of Lands End to John O’Groats (1084 miles).

"I can help our girls achieve their potential in this outstanding sport," declared Alexia. "Cycling LEJOG is just the start!"
