We are thrilled to announce that Royal Wootton Bassett RFC is preparing to launch a new Senior Women’s Team for the 2025/26 season.

From our very first 'Ravens' Girls’ Rugby session back in 2019 – we have always had a vision to grow our own senior women’s side organically, building a sustainable and supportive pathway from U12s all the way to adult rugby. Now, with the Red Roses preparing to host a home World Cup, there's no better moment to take this exciting step!

Pre-Season Women's Training Session: Wednesday 6th August, 7pm–8:30pm

📍 Ballards Ash Sports Ground, Royal Wootton Bassett

💬 No experience necessary – everyone welcome! Whether you’re a complete beginner or a returning player, come along and give rugby a go in a friendly, fun and supportive environment.

Meet the Coaching Team

Leading our new Senior Women’s team will be an exceptional coaching trio, bringing together elite playing experience, player development expertise, and club passion:

Claire Chard

Claire began her rugby journey at university before joining the RWBRFC women’s team in 1999. She went on to play Premiership rugby for Worcester, then spent over 20 years with Supermarine, representing Dorset & Wilts and the South West.

Claire has coached both age-grade and senior county sides and, since 2019, has led the very first Ravens girls team from U13s to adulthood.

Natalie Knott

A driven coach and former player, Natalie brings 16 years of top-level rugby experience, including stints with Supermarine, OA Saints, Wasps, and Lichfield, as well as representative honours for the RAF and UK Armed Forces. Since transitioning to coaching in 2023, she has made her mark with Witney Angels, Oxen County Women, and the RAFRU Women’s team.

Passionate about growing women’s rugby, Natalie reached out to RWBRFC to help create this new chapter in her hometown.

Rhys Floyd

Our very own RWBRFC Community Coach, Rhys currently plays scrum-half for our 1st XV and Dorset & Wilts. He brings huge energy and technical knowledge to every session and is central to our club’s long-term player development approach across all age groups.

Let’s build something special

The launch of our new Senior Women’s Team is more than a milestone – it’s a movement. Be part of it.
