Today was the U16s Ravens team last game of the season, and as with every game prior to this, they outdid themselves. But today's game was slightly different. Each and everyone of them played the game of the season today. I say it every week, I'm proud of them, and each week, I genuinely mean it.
They all played hard, out of position at times, yet never gave up. All of the U16s from myself and Aidans' point of view have succeeded in every aspect of the game.
This week's forward of the match was Evie Miller. Every week, she turns up, always plays her all, today was no different, took tackles, and gave them back twofold. Her skill level is advancing every game whilst providing support and consistent encouragement to her team.
Our back of the match was Harley Rose, today we saw a different Harley. She took on girls bigger than her and took them down. Pushed forward and showed the rest of the team and the opposition that she has heart and power behind her.
One more shout out to Ava Harpell, one true power house of the Ravens. She started her first ever season this year playing rugby with the Ravens. Her first game, she was nervous, and asked to play only 10 minutes. Gave her first tackle, and as I was going to swap her off, she said, "Ma'am, that was amazing. Can I play more?". Today, though, is her last game with the Ravens. But without a doubt, no matter where she is or what team she is playing for, she in my eyes and the rest of her team will forever be a Raven and we look forward to hearing about her new adventure in the next season.
All in all 2023-24 season has been an amazing adventure for myself. And I genuinely thank all the players, parents, volunteers, and coaches for supporting all of us through it.
