News from our Minis, Juniors and Ravens teams this weekend
Under 6s | Rory
Rory is this week's player of the week. He did well following coaches instructions and being part of the defensive line.
Under 7s | Noah
Noah was player of the week for U7s for making progress in all areas of the game.
Under 8s | Evan
Great improvement and attitude to the game from Evan! Well done!
Under 16s | Harvey
With an excellent display of rugby, Harvey played at Scrum Half for the U16s and was everything you would expect from a scrum half… physical, quick and accurate. All these attributes were shown throughout the game by Harvey.
Under 9s | Rufus & Oliver
Player of week was Rufus. Rufus was linking up with play and always looking to push forward with the ball.
Tackler of the week Oliver. Oliver gives 100% in every contact, showing exceptional tackle technique and tenacity.
Under 10s | Dexter & Jack
It was great to see Dexter win tackle of the week for his last ditch try-saving tackle today, and Jack was a deserving winner of player of the week for his all round tenacity, he was involved in everything and just didn’t give up!
Under 11s | Janco
This weeks player of the week for U11's is Janco. He showed determination today in his carries, breaking the game line on multiple occasions, topping it off with a try at the end of the game.
Under 12s | Zech
Zech is our player of the week for consistent effort in every part of the game.
Under 13s | Logan & Charlie
Players of the week was tough as always, but this week there was two. From team 1 it goes to Logan who played only his second game for us today and covered every front row position at some point, dominating his opposite number on each occasion.
Team 2 goes to Charlie who got the winning try and had some excellent carries but most importantly showed great leadership.
Under 14s | Team
A journey away to Ledbury this weekend for the U14s was rewarded with a great game from both sides. RWB took and early lead but Ledbury came back strong in the 2nd quarter. A strong 2nd half from RWB saw them secure the win.
Under 15s | Owen & Charlie
Unable to separate Owen or Charlie, the U15 award goes to both of them. Owen playing at second row scored 2 tries but equally as importantly got over the ball at the breakdown and kept the opposition on the back foot. Charlie was just as effective. Taking the ball deep in his own half and running the length of the pitch several times he backed himself to beat his opponent and ask questions of the opposition. His decisive try effectively ended the game as a contest.
Under 15s | Olly
The real ‘Westy’ was a great link between our forwards and back today. Putting Kingswood under pressure and using the strong wind to his advantage along with some solid defence when it was needed.
Under 14s Ravens | Lily
Ravens U14s game away at Weston Super Mare was a momentous occasion because it was the 1st time that our U14 section was able to field a full 15 players on the pitch. We even had a replacement in the dugout. Three members of the squad had never played a game of rugby before.
The players played exceptionally well against a strong and well drilled Weston Roses squad who are undefeated this season. We were paid a compliment by Roses coaches that we were the best team that they have played all season.
Our player of the day was Lily, a truly exceptional performance around the park both sides of the ball in her very first game of rugby.
Under 16s Ravens | Frannie, Mabel & Rachel
U16s Ravens played away at Weston-Super-Mare. Frannie (coach’s back of the game), Mabel (coach’s forward of the game) and Rachal (captain’s player).
