The parents on the sidelines were strangely quiet this morning. Maybe a few sore heads following our Sausage & Cider Festival?  But that didn't stop our Minis & Juniors putting in some amazing effort out on the pitch. Here are some of the highlights from this weekend...

Under 6s | Jasper

Jasper is new to the team but he showed perseverance for the whole session.

Under 7s | Joseph

Joseph was player of the week. Good tackling, tagging and teamwork!

Under 8s | Team

Players of the week are all those who stayed to cheer on the seniors and show support for the club! Well done guys!

Under 9s | Squad

Well the U9’s did it again! They made it so hard to de-cider (sorry for the pun) which players to pick for player of the session and tackler of the week that the coaches had to give it to all of them. Their go forward, support play and pressure were all on show in some thrilling training games. You truly all were Bassett Bangers!!

Under 13s | Squad

Strong team performance against Bristol Saracens. “Hardest tackling team we’ve faced all season” was the feedback from their coaches. Special mention to the six u12 lads who played up this week and put in a really good performance.

Under 11s | Squad

Player of the week was the whole squad, who had a great game at the end of training vs the U12s competing at every ruck and making the game competitive.

Ravens U12s | Lexi

The Bassett U12 Ravens joined Trowbridge, Melksham and North Dorset to play against the Western Roses. It was a fantastic and competitive game which They won 12 tries to 10. They played very well especially in the defensive lines and rucks.

Lexi our player of the Match scored 5 tries and was dominant when it came to tackling.

Ravens U14s | Eliza

Ravens U14s played at Drybrook. They showed fantastic team spirit, losing the game 48 - 12, but they never gave up and stuck together throughout.

Eliza was our player of the day.

Under U15s | Guy

There were some excellent performances in our 24-24 draw v Stow but Guy is awarded MOM. Guy dominated his set plays, won some critical turnovers and carried intelligently with purpose to gain territory. Guy was a real thorn in the side of the opposition and did not give an inch.

Under U15s | George

Each week we need to decide our player of the match. Sometimes it’s Backs dominated, other times Forwards. This time the team worked like clockwork. However, we also had a standout player who scored 4 tries; but more than that he ran strongly, running lines that left the opposition in his wake. Well done to George.

Under U16s | Charlie

Having spent time in training focusing in on tackling, speed at breakdown and personal impact Charlie embodied this in today’s game. With strong running and offloading, driving the opposition off the ball and ensuring retention this created a strong platform for the rest of the team to build on.

Congratulations Charlie.
