Highlights from an unusually sunny Sunday at Ballards Ash.

Under 6s | Beau

Beau was player of the week, showed great commitment and effort for the whole session.

Under 7s | Seb

Player of the week for U7s was Seb for scoring great tries and really good listening. He worked extremely hard during the session.

Under 8s | Rhys

Rhys was everywhere in both games, making lots of tackles, scoring lots of tries, but also thinking about bringing others into the game on restarts, all around great play, well done!

Under 9s | Squad

Player of the week was every single player! Every one of them was awesome with supporting team mates and space, running forward and tackling hard.
Talking of tackling, tackler of the week goes to every single player as they all showed what they could do as individuals and as a team in the contact areas. Well done Under 9’s.

Under 10s | Daniel & Zion

It was tough to pick player of the week today as there were a lot of contenders, but Daniel really deserved it with his excellent all round play and awareness today. And tackle of the week just had to go to Zion for his sheer determination, work rate and technique - amazing work from both of you today, well done!

Under 11s | Liam

Player of the week goes to Liam for the under 11's who showed good support play along with one of the highlights of the game using great awareness to do a pop pass from the ground after being tackled which resulted in a try. A great game for all.

Under 12s | Blake

POTW today was Blake for powerful runs and offloading skills.

Under 13s | Nick & Abel

Two players of the week.. Nick has been an absolute joy to watch in recent weeks and great to see him playing with a smile on his face, Abel had his strongest performance of the season and scored a well deserved excellent try! Well done boys.

Under 14s | Squad

Two away games for the u14s this weekend after a few weeks without a match. Friday night against Cricklade RFC and Sunday against Hornets RFC. Two hard games against well match opposition, U14s dug deep on both occasions to come out with the win.

Under 15s | Squad

The Man of the Match Award goes to the entire U15 team. On a day when the team had to reshuffle positions due to a number of players dropping out late on Saturday, it was always going to require something special from the 12 lads that pulled on their Bassett jerseys. However, throughout a bright spring morning in Trowbridge that is exactly what this team achieved, something very special. Dominant in the scrum, towering in the line-out the forwards secured fast attacking ball that our lightening fast set of backs ran onto time and time again.

Trowbridge had their moments but the Bassett lads, many playing out of position, regathered themselves and pressed on to register a win born of true character.

Under 15s | Samu

Samu had a solid game giving us a great platform to work from creating a 2 on 1 to get a score and finally beat Marlborough.

Under 16s | Freddy

Freddy made an outstanding impression on this weekend’s home game against Dursley becoming the ‘go-to player’ with his fearless breakdown work and aggressive carrying of the ball. Well done Freddy

Colts | Squad

The RWBRFC Colts played the D&W Plate Final match in front of an enthusiastic crowd on Sunday. Disapointingly, the result didn't go their way, but every player on the pitch put in amazing effort and determination for the entire 80 minutes. Well played boys.
