RugbyFest is coming to Royal Wootton Bassett RFC on Sunday 5th October, and the whole club will be buzzing with action both on and off the pitch.
Launched by England Rugby, RugbyFest is a new nationwide celebration designed to bring communities together following the conclusion of the Women’s Rugby World Cup on home soil. At Bassett, we’ve put together a full day of rugby, family fun, and opportunities for everyone to get involved.
Minis Festival – Morning Action
The day kicks off with week two of the RWBRFC Minis Festival, featuring Under 7, Under 8, and Under 9 teams from across the region.
Local clubs taking part include: Royal Wootton Bassett RFC, Supermarine RFC, Cricklade RFC, Corsham RFC, Melksham RFC, Bradford on Avon RFC, Devizes RFC, and Trowbridge RFC.
Expect fast-paced games, plenty of energy, and big smiles as the next generation of players show off their skills.
The festival barbecue will be running throughout the morning, with medals presented to all players at the end.
Under 6s Training
And let’s not forget our youngest future stars! While the Minis Festival is in full swing, our Under 6s will also be out on the pitch for their regular Sunday morning training.
We offer free taster sessions for the first four weeks, so it’s the perfect chance for little ones to give rugby a go, run around with new friends, and see how much fun it can be. No need to worry about the details on the day – just turn up, join in, and our friendly Team Managers will chat you through the membership process and joining fees when you’re ready.
Try Rugby with the Ravens – 12.30pm to 2pm
From 12.30pm, the spotlight turns to our Ravens Under 12 Girls team, who are hosting a free open training session.
This is the perfect chance for girls in Year 7 to try rugby in a fun, welcoming environment. No experience is necessary – just come along, bring your friends, and give it a go!
After training, head into the clubhouse for bracelet-making – the perfect way to round off a brilliant afternoon of sport and friendship.
