Following guidance from the RFU and Government, we have been advised that games can and should go ahead this weekend to honour Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Rugby, at its heart, is about community and bringing people together, in good times and in sad. Rugby clubs are a source of strength and support during times of uncertainty, and we hope that enabling games and other rugby activities to go ahead this weekend, with families and friends congregating, will help us all to unite at this time of national mourning.

We have spoken to London Welsh RFC and they are in full agreement with this stance so we have agreed to proceed with tomorrow’s Home fixture with a 3pm kick-off.

As a mark of respect to Her Majesty, we have decided to pare back our planned Beer Festival event. So there will no longer be fairground rides or any live music. Otherwise, the day will go ahead as planned:

RWBRFC Colts vs Chippenham RFC Colts - 12.30pm Kick-off

RWBRFC 1st XV vs London Welsh RFC - 3pm Kick-off

So if you are able to, please join us tomorrow at Ballards Ash to share a minute of silence to celebrate the Queen’s remarkable life, whilst at the same time acknowledging, the new King’s accession to the throne.

God save the King.
