The club has recently learned of the sad passing of another Bassett legend, Eddie Kernoghan.

Eddie played for the club for many years in the 80's and captained the side in the 1984/1985 season.

Eddie joined the club via RAF Lyneham and represented the full RAF on many occasions. He was a magical centre on the park and the genial Irishman off the field. In the opinion of many he was one of the finest players to have ever pulled on our black jersey. We last saw Eddie when he attended Ian Keith's funeral last year and he was in great form. Sadly, earlier this year we had news from Harrogate, where he had settled after retiring from the RAF, that he had been diagnosed with MND.

Eddie’s funeral will take place on Friday 18th July at 12.20pm at Stonefall Crematorium Wetherby Road Harrogate HG3 1DE.
