Following the success of the DoddieCup in 2023, Rob Wainwright has set the biggest fundraising challenge yet with 'All Roads Lead to Rome 2024', in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation

The 'All Roads Lead to Rome' challenge tasks the Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7ammers team with a monumental cycle journey to visit all 6 Nations stadiums. Commencing at Murrayfield on February 28th, the team will cycle through Dublin, Cardiff, Twickenham, and Paris before concluding their journey in Rome on March 8th.

Club Breakfast

On March 2nd, during the third leg of their expedition, the team will make a significant stop at Royal Wootton Bassett RFC for a changeover point, and we extend a warm invitation to members from all sections of our club to join them for breakfast!

Our entire club and local community are invited to gather and cheer the teams as they arrive at the club from 9am onwards. The clubhouse will be open to serve you breakfast in support of the charity from 9am to 11am, offering a choice of Breakfast Baps (£3.50) and Full English Breakfasts (£5).

Our club Physios will be on hand to assist the riders if required, and representatives from the media will be present to capture the team's arrival.

Later in the day, following the team's departure on their journey, RWBRFC's 2nd XV will play a match against Sherborne RFC at Ballards Ash, accompanied by additional fundraising for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7ammers team has been brought together using experienced Doddie Cup riders, along with new riders. Roger Baird (ex-Scotland Rugby and British Lions), along with co-captains Ian Barr (ex-SRU President) and Rob Boyns (D555 elite squad), head up the 20-plus-strong team from Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland and South Africa.

The team represents not only those players affected by MND in the Rugby community but also players across all sports affected by this ravaging disease. The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has made huge progress in recent years in the research and cure for MND, always relying heavily on fundraising efforts from us all.
