This weekend saw our youth teams hitting the road for a few away fixtures while the rest held the fort at Ballards Ash.

With plenty of tries, tackles, and laughter along the way, it’s safe to say the action didn’t stay in one place for long!

Under 6s | Finley

Finley showed great determination even though he asked to go home, he stuck it out. He did some excellent passing and receiving and was a winner at dodgeball. Well done Finley!

Under 7s | Rex

Today we visited Tetbury for a joint training session. It was a good chance for the kids to mix with another team and try out some new drills. Tetbury were kind hosts and we were warmly welcomed.

Rex was named Coaches’ Player of the Week. He listened well, worked hard in the exercises, and showed good awareness during play. His effort stood out, especially in how he tried hard and stayed focused throughout.

Under 8s | George

A thoroughly enjoyable session was had with Tetbury on Sunday. In a really evenly matched session, there was great rugby on display by both sides. With last-ditch defending and brilliant support running.
The Player of the Week was George, who got lots of tags and scored a hatful of brilliant tries, side-stepping his way through on a number of occasions.

Under 9s | Noah & Owen

Player of the Week was Noah. Noah worked really hard today in both attack and defence. What impressed the coaches in particular, was the way he supported the ball carrier, making sure he was always on hand to take a pass.

Tackler of the Week was Owen. Owen demonstrated fantastic tackle technique and was absolutely everywhere today.

Under 10s | Willem

A great performance from Willem this week! He was an absolute menace on both attack and defence — constantly pressuring the opposition and turning defence into opportunity. His sharp changes of direction kept defenders guessing all game, and he was rewarded with three fantastic tries.
Willem’s energy, determination, and skill made a huge impact on the team’s success. Well done, Willem — a well-deserved Player of the Week!

Under 11s | Laeton & Sid

Laeton was our player of the week, displaying great footwork and power in contact situations. After a frustrating first half he led the way for his team by his example and commitment for the rest of the match.
Sid is our first Rucker of the week, who committed to numerous breakdowns securing our ball and this culminated in a great jackal to steal the oppositions ball towards the end of the game. Great effort lads!

Under 12s | Squad

The under 12s couldn’t choose a player of the week today because they all went out and played amazingly well.

The coaches were really pleased to see some of the things that have been worked on in training come to life, nd we’re really proud of the guys' efforts.

Under 13s | Jack

Jack takes home Player of the Week after an outstanding debut performance for RWB. Playing his first game at number 10, he not only dictated the play but also moved the team up the pitch with his carries and kept the team on the front foot throughout.

Jack also made his mark on the scoreboard, crossing the line for a couple of well-taken tries. But it was his defensive work that truly stood out – with some outstanding tackles that earned him well-deserved plaudits from teammates and coaches alike. A debut to remember – well done, Jack!

Under 14s | Charlie

This week's player of the match was Charlie - he made some fantastic kicks throughout the game for touch and conversion. Led our attacking line very well, making some excellent breaks and link-up play.

Ravens Under 12s | Isla

She drove forward fearlessly in attack and was a real menace in defence — an all-round powerhouse performance.

Ravens Under 16s | Kesa & Bella

A thrilling away game saw the Ravens draw with the Cotswold Lionesses. Level at half-time, the Ravens surged ahead with two second-half tries before the Lionesses hit back to take the lead. In the final play, the Ravens scored and converted to secure the draw.
POTM: Kesa – strong runs and tackling
Opposition POTM: Bella – dangerous sniping runs
Special mention: Angel – brave debut with solid tackling.

Rugby fun doesn’t have to stop at the weekend!

Our October Half Term Rugby Camps, led by Community Rugby Coach Rhys Floyd, are your child’s excuse to stay on the pitch a little longer. From 23rd–30th October, boys and girls aged 7–16 can run, pass, and tackle their way through the week — whether they’re first-timers or already dodging defenders like pros. Think of it as rugby… with a side of half-term mischief (and a well-earned breather for parents!).
