Following the recent Club announcement that it would be following government guidance regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) to limit all non-essential social interaction, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel this year’s Summer Ball which was to be held on 11th July.

Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club and all those associated with the organisation of the Ball are disappointed that this year's Ball will not be going ahead, but we feel it is the only viable option currently given the significant disruption and uncertainty caused by the current pandemic.

The planning for the Summer Ball is a year-long task and the next three months were crucial in terms of logistics, volunteer recruitment and ticket sales. Given the current situation, we do not feel that we could stage the Ball in the form that we would want and meet the standards of previous events.

We have already had strong interest in this year’s Ball and would like to thank all those people who have shown interest in attending, and to those offering help in the running of this year’s event. Anyone who has already purchased tickets will be contacted ASAP to arrange a full refund.

Next year

Our next Annual Summer Ball is anticipated to be held in 2021 - date and details to be confirmed. Please keep an eye out out for further details in due course.

On behalf of Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club, we apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused. We offer our best wishes during these challenging times and for everybody to stay safe and well.
