Following the decision by the Club’s esteemed Treasurer of forty years - Mr Terry Aylett - to retire from the position, the Executive Committee have the monumental task of recruiting Terry’s successor.
As all Club members will know Terry has made the position “his” and has gone over and above to carry out many of the Club’s financial tasks that would not be the norm within a Club Treasurer’s remit. Given this, the committee, having discussed all aspects of the role in its current form, and with Terry's help, decided to reapportion some of the current responsibilities covered by him.
Those areas identified will, in the future, be covered either by other committee persons, a member of staff, or further outsourced to our current technical providers. This we feel will make the role more manageable on a volunteer-basis going forward.
The Role:
- To be the lead and therefore go to person on all aspects of Club finance.
- Deal with the accounting for membership fees and age group finances.
- Oversee and monitor all payments out of and into the Club’s bank a/c.
- Be responsible for Club VAT returns and claims.
- Liaise with the external payroll provider’s and Auditor. The club’s bookkeepers currently use the Quickbooks package so a knowledge of that system would be beneficial.
- Work with the Club finance team in producing forward budgets and cash flows.
- Deliver monthly cash flow and P&L reports to the Executive committee.
It is envisaged the person will hold a formal accounting qualification and have had several years - experience within a business environment.
If you are that person or know of that person then YOUR CLUB NEEDS TO HEAR FROM YOU!
If you would like a confidential informal chat with regard to the above then please phone our Chairman Chris Elias on 07748 568082 or email chris.elias59@outlook.com
