Royal Wootton Bassett RFC is pleased to announce the club's new team captains ahead of the 2019/20 season. 

With the new season fast approaching, our new team captains and vice-captains are busy planning the 2019-20 campaigns for each of our Senior squads.

 

1st XV 

Captain: GAVIN OUGAN / Vice Captain: PHIL BARDWELL

  

 
Gavin Ougan
 (right) continues as Club Captain this season and will be joined by a new Vice Captain, Phil Bardwell (left).

Phil, who has been with the club since Minis returns to the squad after injury early last season. The popular Hooker led Dorset & Wilts in their successful County Championship in the 2017/18 season. 


2nd XV

Captain: BEN WILKINSON / Vice Captain: MIKE ROSHIER

 

 
This year the 2nds will be led by Ben Wilkinson (left). The Hooker has showed strong leadership since joining us from Devizes RFC last season, and is looking forward to leading the squad and supporting our young players pushing for 1st XV rugby. 

Ben will be supported by Mike Roshier (right) as 2nd XV Vice Captain. Mike has been a consistent performer since moving up from the Colts to the senior sides. He has progressed all the way up through the Minis to the senior squad playing as Back Row/Scrum Half. 

 

3rd XV 

Captain: CHRIS PREEDY / Vice Captain: RICH GOSLING

 

 
Chris Preedy
 (rightreturns as captain of the Mighty 3s this season. As a physical ball carrier, he leads by example, inspiring both new and experienced players.

Chris will be joined by Rich Gosling (leftas 3rd XV Vice Captain. Rich joined the Mighty 3s from local rivals Swindon, and has brought strength and experience to the squad, and was awarded 3rd XV Player of the Season last year.
