In an effort to help support and encourage our younger players during their enforced break from school, we are planning to introduce some fun personal challenges to keep them motivated and engaged in physical activity throughout this difficult time.

Royal Wootton Bassett RFC will be running a contest to find the most innovative ways players are keeping up with their fitness and rugby training whilst at home.

We are inviting our Mini & Junior player to film themselves training and send in to us so our coaches can pick their selection for who has really shown effort and skills each week.

We will share the very best video clips through our social media channels to inspire others to keep up with rugby fitness whilst in isolation.

Some more ideas to theme your personal training sessions could include:

  • Rugby Fitness -Pick an rugby skill video on Youtube and try to recreate it!
  • Position Specific Skills
  • Technical Skills - Why not set up some targets at a suitable distance and using a standard pass technique see how many targets you can hit!
  • Develop Hand-Eye Coordination Skills
  • Kicking Skills -  challenge yourself to hit a target with grubber kicks, drop goals or straight out of hand!

How to enter

  • Please make your video no longer than 30 or 45 seconds, and send to us by email here.
  • Please include your name and age group with your entry (but not in the video). We will share your first name only in our social media channels.
  • Please try to ensure the video complies with best practice for Coronavirus social distancing.
  • And while filming your video, remember to wear your RWBRFC kit with pride!

We have a range of prizes donated by the club and our sponsors for the best videos. We will begin next week so keep an eye out on our social media channels for more informaton!
