The daffs are out, the evenings are getting lighter, its starting to feel warmer and we will shortly be able to start playing rugby again!
It’s been a long old slog since Christmas, but 29th March is just around the corner and we will hopefully then be able to start our road map back to normality. The RFU have indicated that we can extend the playing season over the summer months so everyone will have the chance of re-gaining some lost ground/fitness and have some fun. Between them, Alan and Georgina have devised a road map back to playing which has now been/is being shared with coaches and team managers.
This week also saw the final session of the RWBRFC Wellbeing and Performance programme which has been run by John Lewis. I think everyone who invested the time to attend one of these workshops found them useful and the lessons learned will no doubt resonate strongly over the weeks and months to come. The BBC have become aware of the programme and are interested in running a radio/TV article on the club. As soon as we have any further details, we will let you know. Again, we must give particular thanks to Imagine Cruising whose financial support has been invaluable in putting this programme together.
On a slightly different tack, some of you will have noticed that there is a Pizza van stationed in Sally Pussey’s car park. Every Wednesday evening starting 31st March, the trailer will be relocating to the rugby club car park for a 3-month trial period. During this time, all RWBRFC members will receive a 20% discount on pizzas on production of their RWBRFC membership card. Whilst I’ve not tried them personally Finlay Low thinks they are better than his dad’s pizzas so they must be good! I think the U14’s and U15’s have struck it lucky for their training night too!
Take care everyone and look forward to seeing you all again in the not too distant future...
